By supporting breeder who breed to standard, you are protecting the breed as a whole. The parti color is a fault, and while many people think it's a "cute" fault, breeders who purposely breed for it and increase the price for this fault this are misleading the public. It's actually very easy to produce the parti color if you have two parti dogs, in fact, you can't produce anything but parties. On the other hand, it is possible for two standard yorkies to produce both standard and parti yorkies. Good breeders will sell the parti to a pet only home, and don't charge more for it. I also recommend that people avoid supporting "one trait" breeders like those who breed for size or color alone. |
But I will say they are beautiful. As Nancy said she loves floppy ears, I love partis and I love a red yorkie. I don't know but maybe they could start a different breed? But I'll let the breeders tell you more.
