I read a long days post where a newby got emails from number's of members here because she used the term "teacup" Now, I have to be honesat with you. I was glad she did first becuase I am sure I would have stupidly made that exact mistake. I did not know any better. I was always raised hearing and believing there were "teacups" I had to9 ask in the post for someone to please explain this to me and I had few really nice members email me to explain which I truly appreciated it. If us newbies do not ask these questions wqhich to an experienced person may seem dumb, then how are we to learn?

All I am saying Debra, is as a newby, I am hoping to gain the knowledge from a lot of people here (I really do love my puppy) and that is why I joined. Where I agree with you, us newbies should take the time to learn all we can from the more experienced crowd, I do have to ask that the older members please be patient with me as not knowing anything about the Yorkie breed and if I do ask a "dumb" question once in awhile, I apologize in advance. please forgive my stupidity. LOL, I am only here to learn all I can about my little guy so I can give him all the love I can as well as a very healthy life which he deserves.
I'm pretty sure I do remember this thread. What I particularly remember is that the newbie was overwrought when she came on the forum because she felt she had been berated in pms for using that term. As it turned out, a senior member had been kind enough to pm her so as not to cause her embarrassment, and in that venue educate her, in what she felt was a friendly manner, on the different terms used in referring to yorkies. The senior member was, rightfully, upset for being falsely accused of insulting the newbie. The reason I remember it is because, the newbie that was so overwrought made a private incident public and referred to pms that no one else saw, which made it difficult for the senior member to even attempt to properly defend herself.

I haven't been a member very long, I've read and researched for longer than I've been a member. I read and researched awhile before I ever posted, and I generally try to stay out of controversy. But, to my knowledge, I've seen the seniors, at times knock heads against each others on some points...and they always do it 'politely' and agree to disagree...LOL but I have never ever seen one out and out insult a newbie...ever. They take the utmost care to go out of their way to avoid that at all costs. When it appears that come hell or high water their advice is falling on totally deaf ears, they will fall back regroup and try to be as supportive as they can of a situation that it is too late to salvage. And then there are those that have graduated beyond newbie, they have swam to the deep end of the pool, they have posted enough, participated enough to no longer be considered 'new' and they not only refuse advice, they'll even go so far as to state at the beginning of their thread that they don't want anyone's advice, and if, god forbid, advice is given they want to argue every single point. Well...that is a whole 'nother thread....and I think maybe that would be called ... game on

anyway, excellent post Debra....
