I wish you the best of luck with your surgery.

When I had mine done, my plastic surgeon was adamant about limited movement of my arms and sleeping sitting up for a while. He did not want me rolling over on his "work" during the night. Before the surgery, I fashioned my pillows and got everything ready, cause you sure can't do it afterwards. Since I live alone, a good friend took the dog until I could use my arms again. The limited arm movement is to help prevent bleeding. I was in steri-strips for a long time, that supposedly helps keep the scaring down. However, I do have scars. If they cut you open and sew you back up, you are going to have scars. How noticible they are depends on several things. Just do what the doctor tells you, stay sitting up and take it easy, even beyond the point when you feel like doing things. Make some meals in advance and put them in the freezer. Forget about "taking care of someone", like cooking and laundry and such. Let them take care of you.
