Welcome to YT.

Yorkies are a fabulous breed. However, before you get one, please read up on how much it really does cost to own one. Food is almost nothing compared to vet expenses. You will have the spay/neuter expense and maybe teeth extractions, puppy vaccines, more vaccines every 1-3 years depending on your state and preferred schedule. Then there is heartworm testing and meds (usually not optional), flea and tick meds (depending on your area), yearly check-ups, blood work, fecals, urinalyses, etc. And then hope nothing goes wrong or it will get expensive. My dog's vet and supplement bills have been a few grand in just a couple years. Then if you don't groom the Yorkie yourself, it will need to be done every 1-3 months and will cost anywhere from $25-$70.

I don't want to discourage you from getting one, but if you can only afford $200 right now, it will be especially important to have a savings account for pup and/or insurance.

Have you tried a Yorkie rescue?
Or talking to breeders about getting a retired female?
