I ignorantly bought my Joey from a pet store. I really didn't know that most pet stores are supplied by puppy mills. If I had known, I wouldn't have gone in. I wouldn't have Joey, but I feel terrible for supporting a mill. I figure that by spreading the word about pet stores and all they do to get people to buy, it kinda evens out a little...I still feel bad though. It is very true, though. The girl told me that the owner goes out to each house and hand picks his puppies - while inspecting the property to make sure the pups don't come from mills. Bull poo. When I got the registration papers from him, not only were they not akc (ckc - continental kennel club), but he was from Minnesota! Now, what Idaho pet store owner flies to Minnesota to pick up one puppy? Makes me angry... |
