Sure you are crazy -- crazy about your dogs! Just like most everyone here! I have to confess to having dogs that I treated "like dogs" in the past. We had labs that I dearly loved, but they lived outside and we played with them a few hours a day, fed a medium quality food, and never fully realized how much personality potential they had. Once people have a breed that really becomes a member of the family (like our Yorkies) they see things differently. Once I got yorkies, I wanted the best for them, the best food, the best training, the best care. I also saw them as more than a dog. I got to really experience their unique personalities and abilities. So, don't think too badly of your friends for not understanding how we are with our pups -- just feel sorry that they have not had the experience yet! |
