Lol, I never tried that, and it might even help putting a little on those pesky short hairs! I used cheerios, but he didn't get any until we were done. I think if they are eating it might be hard to do the topknot and what your goal should be to teach them to be patient, and then they will get a reward. My first topknots didn't look all that good, but Joey has learned to be patient. I have a soft baby brush, and I stroke his forehead a few times and he lies down, and patiently waits for me. Make a straight line from the corner of each eye, and straight across to the very front of each ear, and place a band around this. Petsilk topknot gel works very well on the short hairs, in case peanut better doesn't work! I found this website has some good tips, on how to do the topknot and gettig them use to bows.
