I will add my prayers for your little one. What a callous breeder to first of all sell a puppy foryou to take home at 9 weeks and less than a pound! I agree with the poster that said they should be at least 12 weeks old and 2 pounds before going home. Then for that breeder to tell you "You bought him, he's yours!" is plain horrible. I would get some evidence of him saying that. Email him, call him with someone else listening in on the phone, anything to have evidence that he refused to take the puppy back or give you money towards the vet bills. Then I would take him to small claims court to pay the vet bill. If your state law says you had 14 days to return him, and he would nto allow it, then I think you should have a good case to get him to pay the vet bills.

I am glad you took it upon yourself to get him the care, including emergency care, he needed. So many go into pet ownership without funds to properly take care of puppies when emergencies arise. Even though Iam sure you did not appreciate having to rack up bills like that, you put the pup first! I wish you well with your little one. Hopefully he will gain quickly once you get him through this initial crisis. Look forward to seeing pics once he is well.
