I don't know how the testing for Lymes is now, but when I lived in NJ, they would put people on antibiotics immediately rather than wait for the results of a test. At that time it took a long time to get the results back and it was better to start treatment. Antibiotics early is key!

tick bites on people look different then bites on dogs. dogs don't get a bullseye from a tick.
