Default baby

I almost lost "baby" yesterday from hypoglycemia as I woke in the moring he was the only one that didnt get up and excited breakfast was coming...

I called "Baby, baby, baby" he didnt get up!!! I picked him up his body was limp and his head was frozen in position. (for the record I have never had a tiny before it is an oddity from the litter as the runt)

His eyes were open but you could tell the lights were on but no one was home...in other words in hypoglycemic shock! I gave him nutri drops and rushed to the vet up the street, in tears thinking I was sure to lose this little tiny man!!

This vet is the only one open this early very close me me but I dont like them at all!!! I arrive said they will do everything they can sit down and be quiet!! Then came out 20 minutes later saying there is only techs here and cant administer a gloucose under the skin with out a doctor present... They gave him sugar water and beef baby food said there was nothing else they could do for him, his temp was 98.6, coma is what ive been told is 98 degrees and usually irreversible!!! (I am pissed by now!!!)

looked at my watch 10 min before my vet opened grabbed the pup up and sped to my normal vet...by the time we saw the doc he was licking my face and wiggling his little butt, telling me everything was ok!!! They fed him more baby food, checked his heart and lungs said he is doing fine now and sent me on my way...

He is 16 oz almost 9 weeks old (lost 2 oz almost over night) the little fighter, made it through! I put him in with Trinas 5 week old litter, he took right up on a teat and said ok I am home...he gained 1.5 oz over night from feeding with Trina (which she accepted whole heartedly) and feeding 5 times baby rice ceral, karo syrup mixed with beef baby food and finally Nutri drops twice daily, What a scare!

This is a true testiment!! Never breed for tinies! I have many sleepless nights and observing days ahead, making sure this little man makes it! I am keeping him will not be for sale because I would never place this responsibility on anyone...if a person misses one sign of hypoglycemia an adoptees heart would be broken!

anyone reading this please be wise when searching for your perfect little companion! Little ity bitty does mean LARGE vet bills and very little sleep, constant fear and possible heart ache!
