I have 3 male dogs in the house and the only times I have tried to insert females into the mix (not only with these dogs, but others) the dynamic just gets mixed up. I want a girl so bad it hurts (another baby to love, but also a girl to dress up and put pretty girly bows in!!!) but my partner and I have tried females and it just gets all tense in the house.
So, for now, I am stuck on boys.

Sounds true in my experiences with dogs!
I have a male currently and my next dog will be a male.
