Dogs who were totally laid back get all "macho" and what not, even if they are all fixed. The girls invaribly go all "alpha" and beat up the boys (I can not tell you how many times I have seen this, both with my rescue work and with pets I had), I have rarely seen the case where it didn't cause some friction.

I want a girl so bad it hurts (another baby to love, but also a girl to dress up and put pretty girly bows in!!!) but my partner and I have tried females and it just gets all tense in the house.

So, for now, I am stuck on boys.

It usually works out easiest.
I can't believe how true that is. Outside Sadie is a little lady, submissive, full of kisses, and inside she is alpha through and through and doesn't give poor Joey a break. Every toy, every treat, she manages to snatch from him.
