Well even though Reggie is a Yorkie mix, he weighed about the same thing at 7 mos and now at a year he is 9 1/2 lbs. He got up to 10 lbs even but when we switched him from Royal Canin to Wellness he dropped down to 9 1/2 and seems to be holding it there. I think it is because Wellness may have less fillers in it. Also he has been walking 1 mile with us almost every day now.

I am not in the market for a new dog any time soon. We not only have Reggie but we have a 10 yo Collie and a 15 yo Rat Terrier. However, some day when Reggie is all we have I would like to get a purebred Yorkie and I tend to think I would rather have a medium to larger sized one rather than a tiny one. I worry about stepping on the tiny guys and them breaking legs too.
