Wow, an hr. a day...but looks like your baby has thick wonderful hair, and looks so nice ...My little Apple has rather thin hair, and it's a little short for the summer (we're in S.E.Texas and it is hot!)...But, in answer to your question, it takes me about 3 minutes a day to run a brush through her little 4 1/2 lb. body, and another few minutes to put her rubber band in her top knot, for the day...I was sooooooooo apprehensive about getting a yorkie, because of the grooming issues, but I was blessed w/my little apple, and w/thinner hair, it's a breeze...I love the thick, gorgeous, movie star hair on the babes, but I wouldn't really have time, at this point in my life (I work)...So I'm good....
p.s. I don't know what the heck they do at the groomers, but Apple sure does look glamorous, when she comes out...Not so much, w/me doing it lol....
