I have three sets of stairs. Small ones for the couch and recliner and taller ones for bed my bed. They can get off and on chairs without the stairs but when they were new puppies they needed help. I stacked up empty boxes of various sizes years ago before stairs became so popular. The stairs to my bed are a test. I don't put the puppies up there. When they can navigate the stairs on their own they come on up because my bed is so high. Any orthopedic doctor would tell you it is not just how far you fall, but how you land! No injuries in more than 10 years but it could happen when they jump off the couch, too. Dora is not satisfied until she is as high as she can get - the back of the couch, the top of the recliner, etc. I think there might be some cat in her cause that girl can climb!
