We just had a litter of Aussies. Stormie (mommy) was panting a couple days later and her temp was a little over 103. I went ahead and took her with the puppies to their tail docking appt. at the vet and Stormie ended up having a touch of mastitis. We caught it very early and it cleared up fast with antibiotics. So, I guess in my experience, the panting could be signs of something. Pet Cal and Pet Tabs are good for the mom after whelping and also we gave Stormie cottage cheese in her food for the first couple weeks.
