I have stairs for my bed and they use them all the time. In fact they don't ever try jumping up on my bed anymore, they just use the stairs and come and go as they please.
This is how I taught mine...
I put them on the last step and coaxed them on the bed. Since it was a short distance it didn't take much. Then I would place them on one step further down and coax them so more. I kept doing this until they were on the bottom and would go up all the stairs. They all learned it within a few tries.
Teaching them to go down the stairs takes more patience. I usually have to place their paws on the next step until they figure it out. But again it only takes a few tries.
