I use ramps. My DH made them long ago and they have been wonderful. I have one a the bed and one for them to get up in the window seat. I have a small step stool by my chaise. Not only is it great for them to not risk broken bones, but it is alsoa great help to those tender joints. So many small dogs wind up with back, hip and knee problems from so much jolting over and over through the years. So, even if people think their babies don't need something like this because they can easily jump up and down -- it is still much better for them to use a ramp or steps! Glad to hear you are going to get something to help.
