Yep, I have them all over the house. I have the $15 ones from Walmart by the couch, but my bed is so high that I spent a little more and got taller ones for that spot.
I have a thread going right now about needing to replace the stairs with ramps. It's in the general forum titled 'Please help me find a ramp for Alex.' I'm just mentioning this because I wish now I had gone with ramps originally - they are just so much easier on the joints if there's an injury, arthritis, etc. But, I have had my pet stairs for years and they definitely serve their purpose.
Anyway, I highly recommend you put something next to your bed as well as any other furniture he will be on.
