None of my dogs have ever had a bad reaction to it but something "funny" happened to one of the cats the first time I put it (the cat formulated one) on her. The vet had warned us that you have to put it on a little different for cats because they can reach around so much further and lick it. If they lick it, they will get all foamy-mouthed. He said it wouldn't hurt them but to try to get it further up on their neck than what you do for dogs. Well, didn't get it far enough up and the next thing I know she's foaming and spitting. Freaked me out! She was fine after drinking some water and washing it out of her mouth but it was spooky looking!
