I tried a million different shampoos for Thor and none of them were that great. I finally tried Buddy Wash Lavender from Whole Foods, and I LOVE it! It has a great, mild scent, it does not irritate Thor's eyes (I was worried about the non-tearless thing too, but it seems to be a non-issue), and the conditioner leaves Thor's coat nice and manageable. He has a silky coat, so I think the bottle may be right, it is in fact the best dog shampoo ever!

I also have the conditioning spray and give that a big

too. You just need one or two sprays and the matt is gone. I know I sound like a fake testimonial, but I really do like it that much.
