Places like Lowes will cut the piece of plywood for you and I just propped one end on the edge of the bed and let the other end rest on the floor. No "building" to it. If you wanted something better, check with a woodshop class at a local high school. If you pay for material, I'll bet there are teens who would be willing to build it.
