I tip based on how well they do and how much they had to do. This last time, I was very late with grooming and Rocky (puppy hair) had mats. I figured that was worth a little more. They did not charge me extra, but I knew they had to take more time and care with him. Your post got me wondering if they split the tips. They have a lady that brushes, washes, and combs them out, including getting the mats out, and blows dry. Then they have the groomer who actually comes in and cuts their hair, styles, puts the bow in and makes them smell good. I should probably find out because it was the shampoo gal who spent all of the extra time and effort with Rocky. His cut was a cinch because I want it to grow. He basically got a pedi, foot trim, and sanitary. Glad you posted this -- made me think. (Ouch
