I'm not a yorkie breeder, but I've been breeding and showing poodles for 15 years. I do know you mark the color when the pups are sold. My yorkie breeder marked the color code on my papers. I can't imagine waiting a year for the adult color to come in before I register them. Isn't there a fee after 6 months for AKC? I've never waited more than a few months, so I dont know.
