A good vet understands that the client knows there own dog the best, and doesn't feel threatened if the client questions them and has an active participation in their dogs medical care . I've been blessed with two very good vets, one in Dallas, who I still maintain contact with and one here. It takes a lot of foot work to find one that works well with you.

On the other side of the coin, I hate a vet that is tentative with their treatment; oh we'll try this and if that doesn't work, will try that, makes me feel that all they want is to administer numerous treatments for monetary reasons. I want a vet that is assertive in treating my dog. I usually obtain the services of my vet for annual check ups and dental work, so when I'm in their office for any other reason, it's the problem is beyond my knowledge and I need the vets expertise.
