Hmm, tough decision. I do think dogs do much better without us than WE do without THEM, lol. I've left Jackson four-five times since I got him last December, each trip about four nights long, and he does absolutely fine. He goes and stays at my dad's house with his two doggy buddies. However, all of those trips, it wasn't really even an OPTION to bring him with me. If I had the option, I would definitely try to bring him. But if he were going to be alone in the hotel room all day, I may re-think it because then it makes it kind of pointless for him to go, ya know and he may more comfortable with your mother in law, especially if he knows her. I think it also depends on the dog though - Jackson does pretty well with change and traveling so I think he'd be totally fine. Some dogs don't like new places and get really nervous, etc. So I think it just depends on what you think Gizmo could handle. I hate leaving Jackson too but it usually goes by so quick and he hardly even knows your gone!!
