Too cute!! You are so amazing for stepping in and helping this baby girl. I seen lab and poss. GP in the squared head. I have a GP, he's in my albums if you'd like to see the head thing I'm talking about. What's the tail look like? Curly and long fur?
Anyway, have to say Heck No! You are not crazy!!!! It's obviously bothering you that your friends say these things, you should be honest with them and explain that their jokes are hurting your feelings because you feel that are belittling your love for your dogs and your career choice. Explain that this is who you are and if they can't be more supportive then you need to look out for your well being and disconnect with them some.
I know people love Dr. Phil and people hate Dr. Phil, but one thing I heard him say has always stuck with me, because it is so true...."You teach people how to treat you." Meaning what crap you take from someone teaches them it's ok to treat you that crappy. So, don't get crapped on...stand up for yourself and tell them like it is!!!!
