Fergus was so little he "fell out" of all the harnesses we got him in the beginning, so, I found the vest type fabric/velcro things worked great on him.
They have a d ring in the back for the leash and adjust perfectly where he needs them just for his walk. I got a great tye dye one that I get comments on all the time!
Just do a search for "harness vest", you will find a ton, including fancy party clothes! (now if only I had a girl!!)
