Maverick had hiccups all the time when I got him (he was 7 months) for no apparent reason. He'd just bve sitting watching me blow dry my hair before work, I'd look down, and see him hiccuping. He gets them frequently in the mornings too, while we are doing the "scratch me for a few minutes before we get out of bed and face the day" thing.

It's perfectly normal.
