He is so thin, I can feel his ribs and his spine!!!!!!!!! He will only eat out of my hand! They gave me medicine for "hot spots"...does this sound like hot spots to anyone?! Would that cause weight loss and hair loss?! I will be able to take him to the vet Friday, but just wondered if anyone here would know what it would be! Is there a certain food I can buy to help him gain weight? Thanks so much!!!
allergies can cause hair loss - i use raw coconut oil on hot spots and it heals up fast. Hypothyroid causes hair loss too -- I would get a full blood panel, bile acids, and a 6 panel thyroid run on this dog since it is so thin and has hair loss - this way you have everything covered and know exactly the health condition of the dog. Have them send the thyroid out to michigan state or dr jean dodds for accurate results

what food are you feeding as my concern is food allergies and also have scraped for mites as demodex affects the facial area on dogs and dogs with poor immune system are susceptible to demodex mange as well as allergies as well as thyroid issues all are auto immune disorders

bless you for taking this little one
