 Howling and apartment living
We have had Karimella for just over a week now and we love her, except for her howling when we leave. She is so loud, I can hear her several apartment buildings down from us. So far, we haven't had any complaints but it's so loud, it's only a matter of time. I've tried leaving treats, I walk her and my other small dog beforehand, and nothing has helped. Even when I go take down the trash she howls continuously until I get back. I don't reward her when I get back, just softly walk around until she's calm and then reward. My biggest worry is that I'll go back to work in a few weeks and she will be alone for at least 5 hours. My local SPCA recommended a wind-up toy but I'm not sure what he's talking about. Has anything worked for others? |
