 Litter box raid
I am so completely grossed out right now. Joey was under the piano just chomping away on what I thought was a treat he had hidden (he likes to hide his toys under the piano also). I picked him up and checked in his mouth, but he had already swallowed it. Then he gave me a big smooch and I nearly fainted -- he had been gobbling up cat poop from the litter box. I clean it up each time the kitten goes there, but he must've gotten there first. This is a rescue kitten who does have her shots and is healthy (and fecal tested negative, although she had coccidia originally when she was found). Can he get sick or catch something from this? He loves to eat poop and it makes me ill. Now I have something new to worry about. Tomorrow I buy a box with a lid. |
