My oldest as her full tail. My middle and youngest both have docked tails. It just depends on if the breeder has them docked or not. IF you really want a baby with a full tail, make sure you speak to the breeder before they are docked (they do this when they are VERY young). Now, if you are talking about a docked tail and the way it is positioned, I think that has to do with heredity. With all dogs, if they are scared, worried, upset, they will tuck and if they are excited it raises and wags.
Now on to the ears... My oldest and youngest both lay their ears down when I talk to them, love on them, take a picture etc. I don't think I have many pictures at all with their ears up LOL BUT my boy RARELY puts his ears down! He is just too proud to lay his ears back or tuck that tail! There have been few occasions when I was giving him love that he actually allowed his ears to lay down.
