I couldn't agree more..I know he is your dog and you have to do what's right for you but it does sound like you all have bonded with Coach already and he with you. It would set him back I think to trade him in for a puppy. Lord knows what this breeder would do with him. Get him neutured and do some training with him and I bet he will make you the best family member ever!!
