what is your reasons for not liking to have a dog in the kitchen?

ours is always in the kitchen because it's tiled so there's no worries about an accident, her xpen is the kitchen and she's always in there when we are cooking, cleaning or eating in there, the kitchen is usually the heart of the house besides the L room, it's a perfect place for bonding to a dog, ours plays with balls and toys ALL OVER the floor of the kitchen and the back door is right there by the kitchen, we love eating with her in the kitchen because she just plays while we eat...

also, why don't you tire out the puppy a little more before napping and he'll proabably start a nap with you, we nap on the couch with Sadie all the time, she'll curl up with you when you are that calm and lay down and be soooo sweet, if she's asleep and you have to leave the room, check on her every few minutes to make sure she's still sleeping, otherwise move him into the crate while he's tired so he'll go right to sleep in there and like it more...

hope that helps
