i just wanted to add, i crate train as well, BUT i never leave her in a crate for more than 2 hours when i'm not home, she goes into the x pen if i'm gone for work and hubbie is gone too, we bell train...you might try that, use a service bell and train her that when she needs to go outside she has to ring the bell to let you know. hit her paw on the bell everytime you take her outside to pee, it took Sadie two weeks to learn to hit the bell herself and even still we have accidents, it takes them awhile, but it's worth it having a way they can tell you when it's time. and please use an expen not a crate when you are gone for a long day, i know you tried that before, but putting a bed or crate in the xpen with toys and water is better than just a small crate, she's in the crate all night 8 hour or more, she should be in there all day tooo that's not very fun for her!!!
