Do you know anything about his history before you got him? Knowing where he comes from may answer a lot of your questions.
For potty training, be consistant. It sound like you just got him so hang in there. He will get it sooner or later. If it is marking hopefully getting neutered will help. But be aware that at his age it may take up to a year for the hormones to be completely gone for his system. Getting neutered may also help with his aggression.
