The diets that are made especially for dogs prone to stones have been tested, and they have been shown in clinical trials to reduce the incidence of recurring stones. Stones are so painful that if you can find a food especially made for this, and it has actual proof it works, I would definitely choose this. Is it possible your dog isn't drinking enough water? Perhaps adding some water to his food would help with this.
