only way to know it to try. i did the same routine 3 years ago with morgan (didn't have a book then). She was confined to a little less then half her crate (she was very small). next step was to give her the whole crate to see what she would do. after a few weeks of that i put her in an ex-pen. she had a few accidents in there so we went back to the crate for a few days. The next time i put her in the ex-pen i changed the shape so it was smaller AND put her crate in there as well to make it even smaller. We worked up from there.
so everything was very very slow.
