You would think.... I have known people that had pups they were selling out of a UKC champion and did not bother to tell the buyer - they just stated the parent was a champion. No explaining. I think that is wrong and should be explained, especially since it is not the same and could be misleading. There are many people out there that do not know the difference. There is nothing wrong with stating that the parent was a UKC champion, and at least this way they could be up front.
