We carried Ruby back to the vet yesterday to have her incision checked and her bandage changed. The vet came back in the room with her and told us she knew why she was having trouble getting it to heal. Ruby has a Mast Cell Tumor. It is the kind with all the fingers that network out to other places. We don't know if it actually has or not but the vet said it is an aggressive cancer. She put her on a holistic treatment called Neoplasene. She said she has had great success with it. It gets mixed in her food twice a day. She can't have anything but cooked food. No treats, no dog food, and water only at the two mealtimes. The main concern right now is getting it to heal. Apparently that could be a very long process and may not happen completely. I just can't believe this has happened to my precious baby. The tears just won't stop. She is only a baby(7 months). How could this be?
