When I got my cat microchipped, he developed a lump that began getting bigger. His body reacted to the chip and he needed to go on antibiotics. He didn't have hair loss though, just a lump.
The chip is about the size of a grain of white rice and gets injected in the area of the neck and between the shoulder blades. Anytime anything is introduced to the inside of an animal, they should be watched or checked often for reactions or problems. |
