Since you're taking your boy to the vets and you want to ease his discomfort a bit.....what works for me; 1 1/2 to 2 cc of Childrens Benadryl. It'll help him rest. The one thing it won't do is reduce the inflamation. Your vet may x-ray him and may find arthritis and/or knee problems. If if is the later, he may prescribe metacam to reduce inflamation and discomfort.
