I didn't have the chewing problem with Piper but I did have a problem with the potty issue. Piper would always go potty outside but it was up to me to make sure I brought her out every couple hours or she would have accidents in the house because she never asked to go out. She is 15 months old now and she still doesn't ask to go outside but I have learned to read her body language. She does what I call her potty dance. She moves back and forth from one side of the room to the other, kind of pacing. I now know she has to go potty and I let her right out and she goes immediately. I'm hoping that someday she will learn to go to the door and ask to go out. She rarely has accidents in the house anymore because we are always keeping a close eye on her all day.
