We have been using the "Off" clip on thing and it has been working for both of us. During walks I clip it onto my shorts and he walks beside me. Also, you can clip it somewhere on the porch (where he can't get to it obviously) and it should work as well. I don't put the spray on me bc he licks my legs etc. and really like this thing.
