Some lines take a bit longer for their gold to clear. A yorkie can take 2 to 3 years before they have completely gone through their color changes.

Some will finish their growing at 5 or 6 months and others will continue to steadily grow.....but, for the most part are done about a year of age.

Yes, some are darker then others, just as coat textures differ.
