 LP genetic or injury?
A pup from my breeding has been diagnosed with a Grade 2 LP. He is only 5 months old. Because of his age I would lean toward genetic, however, I had him to the vet in June and his knees were fine. He runs around like a madman all the time so I wonder if it is injury. I know there is no way to tell, I just feel so awful for the poor guy (no symptoms right now, but I am sure they are coming!) I want to know what you guys think. The sire and the dam do not have LP, and his littermate does not have it either. Could it be both genetic and injury? Also, how long has he got to be symptom free? I can certainly try to slow him down, discourage jumping etc. but just growth wise, I figure he might be in trouble soon. Obviously I have never had a dog with LP before and I need lots of info!
