Default Thanks Cirlonde!

I've just been researching for about a month. Sounds like your experience was similar to mine now. My vet gave me the names of 3 in Oklahoma based on client recommendations. Two of them aren't breeding right now. One might start again next year. That would be OK. I'm not in a hurry. But it would be a new line, etc., and is only a "might." The third is Dillinger's State Line Kennel, which I undertand has several breeds, but some people on Yorkie Talk had good things to say about the kennel.

I contacted a couple of the outstanding breeders in Oklahoma. One never replied. The other couldn't help me. (I can understand their being picky about who they let adopt their puppies--they must almost be like their children. There are very few people I trust to even pet sit for me!)

So, it's no wonder there is so much demand for puppies--and the puppy mills are happy to supply puppies to satisfy that demand. This is sad. If there were more reputable breeders who loved the breed, some of that demand would be satisfied with healthy puppies, and there'd be less business for the puppy mills. (I think I'll preach!)

I've concluded that Oklahoma needs more people to become serious, devoted, educated, "reputable" breeders.

Thanks again for the lead in Broken Arrow!
