I have a dog that was very fluffy as a puppy and her coat is super cottony. It mats and is not the proper texture. My new puppy is as you have described your boy, thin, straight, not fluffy at all. I *think* she will have a super nice silky coat as an adult, it never mats (she is 12 weeks now), is starting to come in thicker but is still not fluffy at all. I prefer it to the cottony, even if it doesn't ever get to be the proper silky a yorkie should have.
