Carol you wrote what I was thinking. That's not a good sign honey if your BF is jealous of your cute little doggie..what would happen if you married this guy and had kids.
My instinct has always been with my doggies - if my doggies love my BF or husband then he is a good guy. Trust me - doggies know.
